Please join us for our third SITE for the Senses event of the year in Monterey, CA. The event will take place Thursday and Friday, August 22-23, 2024 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa and Monterey Bay Aquarium plus several experiential venues and locations throughout the Monterey Bay - Carmel area.

All Planner / Buyers will receive complimentary hotel accommodations courtesy of Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa until that room block is sold out. Bicyling Adventure

Biking through Monterey is the perfect way to explore the area. The area is flat with easy biking and you can bike alone or with a group. Conveniently pick up your rental across the street from the hotel at Adventures be the Sea, and you’re sure to have a blast as you bike around Monterey. With the beautiful Recreation Trail and 17-Mile Drive, there is so much to see in Monterey…your bike allows you the opportunity to bike the nearly the entire Monterey Peninsula Coastline! Make memories and explore the coast of the Monterey Peninsula today on this awesome afternoon self guided adventure!

Kayaking on Monterey Bay

Adventures by the Sea is the premier recreational company on the Monterey Peninsula in California. For over 37 years, they have been providing visitors and locals the opportunity to discover Monterey by land and by sea!  Walk across the street from the hotel to the shop conveniently which is also located across from the beach where kayaks are launched. Heading out on the Monterey Bay, you will paddle through the kelp forest canopy along Cannery Row and experience the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Discover otters, sea lions, and seals on the Monterey Bay in your own single or double sea kayak for the experience of a lifetime!

The Monterey Wine Experience

Located directly across the street from the Monterey Plaza Hotel, The Wine Experience provides a unique set of services - from wine tasting and custom blending to label personalization to interactive classes, and much more. Their wide range of products offers something to both wine novices and enthusiasts alike! Should you choose, they will provide everything you need and coach you in the process of blending wine. Their wine blending sessions will give you a chance to experience a crucial part of the winemaking process, and you can leave with a bottle of wine to drink that day as you work on the perfect blend with a group of friends or coworkers, or simply concoct a little something for a special event to impress your friends. Bernardus Lodge & Spa Experience - SOLD OUT!

Indulge in the sunny splendor of Carmel Valley with an exclusive experience at Bernardus Lodge & Spa! Upon arrival, you will enjoy a refreshing temperance beverage, masterfully created with organic herbs and flowers by our expert Food & Beverage Director, setting the perfect tone for your day. You will then be taken for a stroll in the abundant gardens and lavender beds with Chef Christian Ojeda, who will introduce you to their sustainable onsite farm-to-table gardens. Delight in a curated culinary lunch experience, where each dish is a testament to our commitment to fresh, local ingredients. We will conclude this perfect adventure with an intimate tour of the onsite estate vineyard, followed by a wine tasting that showcases the exquisite flavors of our finest wines.

Carmel Valley Ranch Experience - SOLD OUT!

Our one-of-a-kind experience today will begin as your guests venture in to beautiful Carmel Valley to Carmel Valley Ranch where they will experience A Bee’s Life and the ancient magic of beekeeping! The private class begins in the Organic Garden with a discussion and demonstration; then guests suit up and head into the Apiary to learn how new hive installations draw connections between plants and herbs, pollen and pollinators. Our bee class will be 1.5 hours long from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. After learning the buzz about bees, we will head up to Carmel Valley Ranch for a fabulous farm to table lunch at the hotel. Showcasing ingredients grown in their own gardens, the roots-to-table menu will feature dishes crafted by Chef de Cuisine Ricardo Aguilar—whose rich culinary history includes time in the kitchens of Nobu, Bouchon Beverly Hills, and Charlie Trotter’s.

Rancho Cielo Experience - FEW SPACES AVAILABLE!

Today you will venture in to the Salinas Valley also know as the Salad Bowl of the World accompanied by Rancho Cielo Youth Campus founder Judge John Phillips who will provide a unique experience at this amazing place. Rancho Cielo invests in all young people facing challenges for success through diploma education, vocational training, counseling, and life skills development in a safe and affirming environment. Imagine the immense potential residing within every young person, in a setting that helps them make it real. This is the essence of Rancho Cielo. We invest in the education, training, and counseling of youth facing challenges, and they, in turn, reward our belief with their success. Upon arrival, Judge will give you an overview of The Ranch and it program from the Ted Taylor Ag Center to the Drummond Culinary Academy. Next you will learn about and have the chance to participate in Rancho Cielo’s Veggie Box  fundraiser, which makes a significant impact in helping sustain the vocational training for our students while also feeding families in need. There will be a special traditional barbecue lunch to enhance this unique and educational day!

Steinbeck Country Wine Experience - FEW SPACES AVAILABLE!

John Steinbeck wrote of people and the land of the Salinas Valley calling it “the Valley of the World” when describing the story that would later become East of Eden. This combination of unique environment and diverse people make the Salinas Valley a world leader in agribusiness innovation and production. This tour will discuss the history and the modern technology with the rich cross section of people from all walks of life dedicated to hard work, creativity and the search for a better life. Our destination today takes us to one of the newest and most dynamic winery operations in Monterey County. Odonata Wines is a small family winery owned and operated by Odonata’s winemaker Denis Hoey, where they do their best to focus on local grapes that are organic and grown sustainably. Working closely with the growers Denis and his staff ensure the highest quality wines from the vines to the glass. Arriving at the winery, we begin with a glass of a glass of one of Denis’ festive sparkling wine and on to a full tasting of his exceptional wines. Guests will have the opportunity to sample first from the barrels of aging wine, then from the current vintage…then a special farm to table lunch will be served to accompany this extraordinary oenolgical experience!
